Tarot of the Week for March 24, 2025

Happy Ostara! The spring equinox was just a few days ago, which means here in the northern hemisphere we’re well into the spring season, moving into the East direction of the medicine wheel. (If you’re in the southern hemisphere and reading this, welcome to autumn and the West direction of the medicine wheel!)
Astrologically speaking, things are still feeling a wee bit chaotic up there in the stars. We’re still seeing lots of nights with northern lights here in upstate New York, and a friend of mine has been keeping me informed about the increasing Schumann resonance. Things are…intense.
This week, I decided to pull cards using another one of my favorite non-human decks, The Guardian Of the Night Tarot by MJ Cullinane. A fabulous deck full of animal medicine! The cards that wanted to come out and play for this week are:
7 of Swords
Page of Wands
2 of Cups
So let’s get to it…
7 of Swords The suit of Swords is a great way to start off this first week of spring. Swords are about the element of air, and the energy of the heart chakra, which are also associated with the season of spring and the East direction on the medicine wheel. This card depicts Black Panther with five swords in the foreground, and in the background, we see two more swords and many more panthers. Black Panther medicine is about mystery – interestingly enough, I pulled this same symbol during the Ostara ceremony I attended last week when I used my Animal Medicine cards for the divination. It feels as if this card is here to speak to us about leaning into our own little corner of the Great Mystery this week. What kinds of spiritual practices do you have? Are there any that you’ve been drawn to? Are there any that don’t feel like they’re right for you? Check in with the energy of your heart this week, and if you do shamanic journeying, this would be a good week to journey with Black Panther and ask for a practice that is truly yours, that speaks to your heart. The challenge this week is: authentic spirituality.
Page of Wands Ah, to embrace the world with that child like energy of innocence and wonder! When the Page of Wands arrives in a reading, we look to nurture and nourish our inner child. When was the last time you allowed yourself to play? Do you remember what it felt like to be a child? Did you have a sense of yourself? Another good practice for this week would be to journey back to when you were a child. Was there a particular time in your childhood that you felt loved, sure of yourself, confident, and when you felt like you knew where you belonged in the world? Also of interest in this card is the depiction of the blood full moon at the top of the card – which reminds me of the full blood moon eclipse we saw a couple of weeks ago during the full moon! There was a lot of healing happening during that full blood moon eclipse, so if there’s been something tugging at the corners of your mind since then, this would be a good week to bring it fully into your consciousness.
2 of Cups No human is an island in this world. We are all connected to one another – and this card reminds us of our obligations to each other. It’s a card of partnership, and connection. This is a good week to think about our partnerships – whether they may be business partnerships, partnerships with co-workers, supportive friends, and even your relationship with Spirit, or your spiritual practices and hobbies. How are you showing up for the things that fill your cup? Remember that reciprocity isn’t about keeping score or keeping things perfectly balanced. It’s about a mutually beneficial relationship that allows you to fill your own cup while filling someone else’s.
Looking at all three of these cards together, it seems like the energy for this week is urging us to explore our authentic spirituality and our practices. What makes us feel good about connecting with something higher than ourselves? Don’t worry about whether or not you’re part of a group right now, because what is important is your relationship with your practices and how they support you.
